- What does the program fee include?
Payment includes transfer from and to the airport (only on the days of the beginning and end of the program), accommodation, all meals excluding one dinner, transportation in private buses, guides, paramedics, security guards, social guides, basic medical insurance, activities, entrance fees to touristic and professional sites, ceremonies, basic materials and guidance for hackathon, mentors and lectures.
- What does the program fee do not include?
Air tickets must be paid separately and are not included in the program fee. Any service, like transfer, transportation, meals on the days before and after the program are not included. Also, medication and private shopping must be paid by the participant.
- Can relatives of friends participate in the activities?
Relatives are welcome to join the trip to Jerusalem (extra payment for each one of them) and the ceremonies (free). Relatives can visit during the Hackathon. All visits must be approved in advance by organizers.
- Is the program Shomer Shabbath and the food kosher?
Yes, the program is Shomer Shabbath and the food is kosher. Activities on Saturday are optional.
- What does the Medical insurance cover?
Medical insurance is pretty basic. It covers visit to the doctor (payment will be refunded). However, it does not cover treatment or medicines for ay medical condition you suffer from prior to the program. Please make sure you bring anything you need with you. If you wish to have a more comprehensive we recommend you purchase it in your home country.
- Can I extend my stay in Israel?
You can extend the visit before and after the program. However, bear in mind tuition for the program does not cover it. Also, transfers from and to the airport are conduced only at the day of the beginning and end of the program.
- How do we pay the registration Fee and tuition?
Registration fee is paid through Haifa Foundation for international participants and Ophirtours for Israelis as instructed in the registration form. Participation fee is paid directly to Ophirtours.
- Is there a code of conduct?
There is a code of conduct. You will have to agree and sign the code of conduct prior to attending.
- What happens if I miss the flight or the connection?
If you miss your flight or connection you will still be able to participate. However, if you missed your flight due to personal problems you will have to pay for the private transfer from the airport.
- Does an adult accompany us at all activities?
Besides the academic committee, the security guides, paramedics, tour guides, mentors, judges, logistic team a social guide will be with you at all times.
- How can I receive financial aid?
In order to receive financial aid you should fill out the forms at "Shira's Fund" in the website and upload a letter from your school confirming you need financial aid.
